We mark the official start of the 2020 Halifax Pride Festival with the annual flag raising at Grand Parade Square. This year our flag raising will be streamed live and we will ask those who choose to attend in person to maintain social distancing and follow health and safety guidelines on site. Prior to the raising of the Two-Spirit Pride and Progressive Pride flags, we will hear greetings from the 2020 Halifax Pride Ambassadors and the reading of the proclamation by the Mayor.

To support safer healthy spaces, attendees must:
- Stay 2 metres away from other people as much as possible, unless with a close social bubble of up to 10
- Wear a mask covering the nose and mouth
- Wash or sanitize hands often
- Cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow
- Refrain from attending in-person events if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
